Sunday in Siberia for Spectrum Engineers
29 Oct 2008
Spectrum Field Service engineers Phil Whistance and Bill McNeill braved the cold to travel to Komsomolsk na Amur, in Far East Russia, this month to install 2 new UV laser wire marking systems.
The 2 automated CAPRIS 60-200 systems were ordered by the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft company to be installed at the KnAAPO plant in Komsomolsk-na-Amur. The equipment has been purchased to support manufacture of the new Sukhoi Superjet 100.
Our Spectrum engineers finally arrived at their destination on 18th October after 2 full days of travel to be greeted by temperatures way below freezing, however they have not let the cold stop them from socialising and have even sent pictures as proof...
Let's hope they make it home before they get snowed in!
