C60-200 Auto/Manual UV Laser Wire and Cable Marker

The CAPRIS 60-200 has been designed and manufactured specifically for the processing of electrical wires and cables for the aerospace and allied industries. Offering mark, measure and cut capabilities, CAPRIS 60-200 is specified for high volume manufacturing applications and able to process wire and cable from 26 AWG up to 6 AWG.
From the same design team responsible for the development of the industry-standard CAPRIS 100, the CAPRIS 50-300 and theCAPRIS 50-100 wire markers, the CAPRIS 60-200 model has been specified to answer the needs of industry that require high throughput but with reduced capital cost.
In addition to the basic manual wire load system, a range of CAPRIS wire handling peripherals have been developed to enable the automation of the wire handling. These include Multi Station Dereelers, a new high speed wire Auto Select & Load (ASL) system and various wire collection units. These standard modules enable systems to be configured to meet customers’ precise requirements, reducing set up and load times from minutes to seconds. These add-ons can boost productivity and machine utilisation significantly.
Whether the requirement is for a harness production line, cellular manufacturing or a niche requirement in support of higher volume manufacture, the CAPRIS 60-200 is the answer to the provision of a permanent, non-contact, non-aggressive means of identification. With the optional range of wire handling equipment and automation the CAPRIS 60-200 fulfils the needs for an affordable high speed marker with automation capabilities.
Marking a whole character with a single pulse of laser energy, the CAPRIS 60-200 produces a mark of photographic quality that is truly legible and outperforms dot matrix (ink or laser) systems. Printing is extremely flexible, allowing for an unlimited number of characters per identification code both in horizontal and vertical formats. In addition to the main wire ident, the system is also able to mark additional information directly onto the wire such as connector and pin routing details. Optionally, data in bar code format can be printed directly onto the wire, on the fly.
The system employs solid-state laser technology that requires no day-to-day consumables. Running costs are low in comparison with outdated ink and heat shrink identification methods and the process is an ideal replacement to both ink and older aggressive technologies such as hot stamping. It is the only truly acceptable permanent method that meets AS 50881 for marking fluoropolymer wires and cables.
Importantly the system has been carefully designed to ensure that the laser power remains constant on a shot to shot basis, thereby maintaining the laser marking fluence in accordance with SAE AIR5468 - Ultraviolet (UV) Lasers for Aerospace Wire Marking and EN 3475 Part 706 - Laser Markability. This guarantees that the mark quality always remains at a constant and high level as the system processes the wire.
Direct wire identification costs are about 1% of those of heat shrink sleeve identification methods.
