The CAPRIS Nova 880 is the new top of the range UV laser wire mark, measure and cut system, offering the very highest marking speeds available on the market. It has been designed taking into account customer demand for a system with the following key attributes:

• Higher throughput, especially for longer wire segments and longer character labels
• Larger numbers of wires handled by the automated version allowing set up and processing of more wire types for manufacturing the most complex wiring harnesses
• Fastest possible wire changeover to allow wires to be processed efficiently and automatically grouped by connector, rather than having to be manually sorted
• Maximum system reliability and mark quality combined with minimum running costs

The CAPRIS Nova 880 is available configured either with a single station dereeler for manual wire changeover and set up or alternatively it may be coupled with a range of new Nova automated wire handling options to maximise the productivity of the system. This includes a completely new and innovative high speed Nova ASL wire Auto Selection and Loading (ASL) system and new multi-station dereeling systems. These enable the system to be preloaded with up to 32 wires or cables ready for selection and loading. The Nova ASL system enables the fastest possible selection and loading of wires into the wire marking unit. This capability reduces the complete set up and wire changeover times to just a few seconds, allowing use of optimum manufacturing methods to maximise productivity. The fully automated Nova 880 system is particularly suited to high volume production of complex wiring harnesses offering substantial improvements in productivity when compared to previous CAPRIS systems.

The Nova 880 incorporates a new high power laser that maximises wire marking speed and throughput, giving it the maximum performance of any laser wire marking system currently available. The throughput charts below demonstrate the comparison between the Nova 880 and previous generations of CAPRIS wire markers for representative marking situations based on typical commercial and military applications. This clearly shows the superiority of the new CAPRIS Nova 880 marker over other systems, including the benchmark CAPRIS 100 which has been the mainstay of the aerospace industry for over a decade.
