Milestone sale of 300th CAPRIS 50-100 system for Boeing Defence UK
Spectrum Technologies PLC, UK-based specialist in laser wire processing equipment used in the manufacture of complex aerospace electrical wiring systems, is celebrating the win of a contract to supply their 300th “CAPRIS 50-100PCS” UV laser wire marking system to The Boeing Company in the UK.
Introduced in 2003 as the world’s first entry-level bench-top UV laser wire marking system, aimed at Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) work, avionics and other low volume aerospace and defence wire harness manufacturing applications, it has since become the benchmark product at this level.
Reaching serial number 300 is a significant milestone in the CAPRIS 50-100’s lifetime and solidifies its position as the most widely sold laser wire marker in the world, bar none.
CAPRIS 50-100 #300 was delivered in May to Boeing Defence UK Ltd based at RAF Odiham in Hampshire, for work on Chinook helicopters.
This machine will become the 47th piece of Spectrum Technologies equipment to be sold to The Boeing Company globally.
The year 2014 marks another significant milestone for Spectrum Technologies with the company celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Since the company was founded in 1989, Spectrum has now supplied over 800 laser wire markers to 48 countries, making it unquestionably the world market leader in the development, design and manufacture of UV laser wire marking equipment.

Demand for these systems has been very firm this year and it is especially pleasing to reach this landmark number of 300 and that it should go to Boeing.”
